DECK OF PLAYING CARDS
The aim of this project is to create a deck of cards that is of your own style and can be themed, and is unique and distinct from the original design. In this case, i created a deck of card that is celestial themed and i intend for the design to have a simple, aesthetic look to it however all 52 cards are of a different design. I intend to create a mystical, aesthetic look to it and is aimed at people of all ages and is family-friendly. It also must have specific dimensions and measurements so that it can fit perfectly into a packaged box.
For the idea generation process, I created a mind map of where I brainstormed some ideas of what could be included in my deck of cards designs and is categorised under a celestial theme. I then also created a some thumbnail sketches to have a vision of what the cards may look like in the end.
I also created coloured thumbnail drawings of my deck of colours using media and experimented with different colours.
I basically did 53 different drawings on my sketch book and then I took a phot of it and edited it and cropped it to make sure the design is clear and the right card sizing. I then send the photo to my laptop and opened the image in Adobe illustrator and did the image trace option in silhouettes and then turned it into black and white. I then expanded so that I can adjust with the sizing and used the eraser tool to get rid of unwanted marks. I then copy and pasted the outlines in and turning the stroke colour into white so that I can transfer it onto my cards which has the blue background and repeated the process for all 53 cards.
