STENCIL DESIGN
The aim of this project is to create a stencil of an animal or plant by finding an image and then transferring it onto photoshop to adjusted in the threshold tool to become a stencil format. Then you have to print the image out and then use it as tracing tool when being carved onto lino sheets to create a shape. Then it was rolled in black paint and then the stencil was used to be pressed onto a new piece of paper and scanned as a pdf copy of my work.
I first experimented with adjusting the threshold of some animal photos on adobe photoshop to create a silhouette look on the photos and to generate a black and white image.
I then did some Photoshop experiments with it by changing the colours of the background, the stencil print lines and the bird design.
I then traced it onto stencil paper and then cut it out from a stencil board and painted it with black paint.
